| The Nazis used various methods to murder. The gas chamber was
the most common method. The other primary methods included allowing people
to suffer death by starvation or
disease. Some were literally worked to death in factories. At the
killing camps, victims were usually gassed within twenty-four hours
of their arrival. "As many as 2,000 prisoners were sent into the gas chambers at
one time. SS personnel poured containers of poison gas down an
opening. Within 20-30 minutes, the new arrivals were dead."
